The digital media kept us engaged with some excellent material in these dreadful times: the pleasant tale of a middle-class family during the Gullak season 2 of SonyLIV and the thriller at the edge of the square in the Family Man 2 of Amazon Pride.

The Family Man 2 – Amazon Prime Video
The sequence curse requires a rare franchise, but Raj and DK have done it in style. Gulak 2: Sony LIV
Looking to see something heartwarming? SonyLIV’s Gullak season two is a fantastic selection. It’s the history of a family from the middle class in a northern Indian city. The show and its leading characters, played by Gitanjali Kulkarni, Jameel Khan, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Harsh Mayar and Sunita Rajawar, are feeling too close to home. Writer Durgesh Singh has studied the ‘kisse’ in a common home in India. In brief, five episodes, 90’s children are guaranteed to become nostalgic and recall the days of their infancy.

The narrative of four applicants for civil service examinations whose personal lives are entwined in their desire for IAS and IPS officers, Starring Naveen Kasturia, Abhilash Thapia, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Sunny Hinduja and others who play important parts has been recounted by the aspirants. In addition to its well-designed storey, the performance of its actors worked for the series. The dialogues and personalities that are related were reminiscent of our college friendships and grownup problems.
Bombay Begums: Netflix
Bombay Begums, an eight-part series, is centred around five metropolitan women: Rani, the bank’s CEO, Ayesha, a naive immigrant to Mumbai, Fatima, a woman who focuses on his job and Lily. The Alankrita Show Shrivastava provides an insight into metropolitan women’s challenges, ambitions and wants, and their intersection of life in the struggle against patriarchy. Maharani: Sony LIV
A political drama in Bihar of the nineties, the Huma Qureshi starrer. It shows that Rani Bharati (Qureshi) the leader of Bihar’s CM must seize the presidency after her husband, and that his enemy shoots the CM Bheema Bharti (Sohum Shah). On digital platforms, the programme takes the degree of political drama even higher. Qureshi has had a strong performance, together with Amit Sial, Inaamulhaq and Pramod Pathak. The Subhash Kapoor establishment also highlighted caste atrocities and Naxalite violence in a number of regions of the nation, apart from displaying corrupt power dynamics.
Kathmandu Connection: SonyLIV
This spy-cum-venge thriller is a really engaging programme, only because the producers have to have a little of patience to reach the primary narrative.
