    Jee Mains: Around 82 percent of students appeared for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 on the third day of the test.
    The report says by the officials from the Ministry of Education on Thursday.
    The NTA JEE Main exams are being held with strict precautions in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. The JEE Main examination is started on September 1 and will continue till September 6.
    From the report, candidates appearing for JEE main exam in West Bengal are having a really tough time reaching the exam center. Due to heavy rain and inadequate transport facilities in the state, only around 57% of candidates of the JEE mains examination in West Bengal reached their prospective exam center in Kolkata.
    An estimated 57% of candidates were present on the third-day test in the two centers of Kolkata said to the official of the National Testing Agency(NTA).

    Many Students covered long distances in two-wheelers to reach the centers during COVID-19 time. According to the data, this JEE main exam was held in 15 centers all across West Bengal.

    West Bengal students share their experience after the examination : 
    While sharing the JEE main exam day experience, Rupak Banerjee one of the candidates came to a center in Salt Lake sector 5 areas on his father’s two-wheelers from Ghatal in West Medinipur.
    “We had a trying time in covering the distance of around 135 kilometers. It was raining heavily in several places, and throughout my journey in many localities, there was waterlogged. But I cannot afford to lose a year,” Banerjee said.
    There were many students, further another student who came to appear for this JEE Main examination his name is Shankar Pramanik, he is from Debra in West Medinipur. He said that he had to spend nearly Rs 500 to reach the same center by traveling on private buses. He added that it would have cost him one-third of the amount other time.
    “West Bengal Students in great trouble”
    West Bengal Chief Minister Shri Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said that around 75% of the candidate in this state could not appear for JEE Main examination held on September 1 and blamed the center’s ego for it.
    She said “Our students are in great trouble. so many of them were not able to attend the main examination that is why we have requested the central government to appeal to the supreme court or review the matter again so that students are not deprived”, she said to reporters.
